Chicken Little

The next movie we watched together and it was an animated movie I never saw before! This movie came out during my rebellious teenage years. I'm glad I finally took the time to watch it because it was so funny.

I wasn't sure what to expect, other than the sky falling. This movie made me laugh. Watch it!

Aliens of the Deep

Aliens of the Deep is a documentary about some fish that live very deep in the ocean and they look very cool and creepy.

I have to say I am enjoying the documentaries. The kid thought some of the fish were cool, but he was getting sleepy at the other parts - mostly during the tech-talk. I think I am going through a phase where I am actually interested in learning more about the world and beyond so this was right up my alley.

We were inspired by the fish and had the chance to go to the nearby aquarium for a party. We touched some stingrays and sharks and starfish. We explored all sorts of sea creatures.

A Ring of Endless Light

This week everyone ditched me and I watched a Disney Channel Original Movie on my own. Whatever, guys, I can have fun, too.

This movie had a crazy cast with people who later went on to make some teen drama TV shows. I loved the part about dolphins, because dolphins are cool, but the rest of the story was a little off. And that grandpa who was denying he was sick sure sounds like some people I know! I think I would have liked this movie more if I were maybe 11 and really into the beach and ocean.

For our activity/craft, the kid and I painted oceans. They are lovely and different. :)

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

This week we watched 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

It is possible I was too sugared up to watch this movie. My son and I kept chit chatting and Frank was getting frustrated that we were being distracting. I guess I couldn't follow along with the plot in the beginning so I started to ignore the rest of it. Chris seemed to like some parts, like the giant squid and how they were able to walk under water.

We took inspiration from the beautiful fish floating around the submarine and made some Jello Fish Shapes. Delicious.
