Cool Runnings

Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it's Bobsled Time!

We are beyond excited for this movie! So many good quotes and overall, a great story about a group coming together to try and defeat the odds.

We highly recommend this one for your older kids and you!

Airborne

This week we watched Airborne. This movie showed up on a Disney Channel Premiere Film list so I decided to include it.

First of all, this cast! Seth Green, Jack Black, Shane McDermott (who I'm pretty sure every pre-teen watching this movie would have a crush on). The kid and I giggled every time someone got confused when Mitchell kept calling them "bra". The movie was funny and I like rollerblading and hockey so that was fun to watch, too. The girl in this movie was definitely in an episode of Boy Meets World, I'm sure of it.

The kid practiced his rollerskating, although we didn't go down any crazy hills and streets like they did in the movie. Maybe when he's a bit older!

A Far Off Place

Up next is a movie I had never seen before, A Far Off Place.

This one scared me a bit - it was a more violent Disney movie. I wouldn't show this to the kid until he was much, much older. I liked some parts of the movie, and I definitely loved the cast - Reese Witherspoon and Ethan Embry long before Sweet Home Alabama. I guess I just love the fun and happy Disney movies over the dramatic ones.

Since there was so much sand in the movie, I decided I'd let the kid play with some sand art I found in an old craft drawer. Simple and easy.
